James Ray Glover, 90, of Grayville, Illinois, passed away on April 20, 2026, at The Haven on the River in Grayville, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on August 23, 1935. in Grayville, Illinois, the son of Robly and Iva (Johnson) Glover.

David Bernard Smith, 64, of Broughton, IL passed away at his home on Thursday, April 16, 2026.  He was born in McLeansboro on January 14, 1962 to Billy Dean & Frances Ann (Allen) Smith.

John Skolfield, age 95, of Mandeville, LA passed away peacefully in his sleep while holding the hand of his beloved caregiver, Rhiannon. He was proceeded in death just last October by his beloved wife of 70 years, Helen Joyce Thibodaux Skolfield.

Delmas Wayne Allen, 61, of Centerville passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Encompass Health Deaconess Hospital in Newburgh, IN. He was born on February 24, 1965 in Eldorado, IL the son of Delmas B. and Mary L. (Vangampler) Allen. He graduated from Eldorado High School in 1983 and then went on to get his bachelor’s degree at SIU in 1987. Wayne married Connie Sue Coston on August 15, 1987, and they shared over 38 years of marriage together. He was the head GED instructor at Job Corps in Golconda, IL and a farmer. Wayne was a member of the Crossville Missionary Baptist Church and a faithful follower of Jesus. His hobbies were fishing, carving, gardening, computers, calligraphy, storytelling, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Minnie Quanna Newman, 78, of Carmi passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN. She was born on December 17, 1947 in Sebree, KY, the daughter of George and Eva Mae Gish.

Guy Owen Choate Jr., 87, of Belle Rive, IL passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026 at Taylorville Care Center in Taylorville, IL.  Guy was born on January 11, 1939 in Taylorville, IL to Guy & Eales (Baker) Choate. 

Charles “Chuck” William Russell, age 92, passed away March 3, 2026 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. Chuck, also known as “Buck” by his family and friends was born September 29, 1933, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He grew up on a farm near Carmi, IL before moving away to attend college and join the United States Marine Corps.

  Beverly Ann (Kimbrell) Bridgeman, 87, of Lakeland, FL and formerly of Carmi passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026. Beverly was born on December 20, 1938, in Carmi the daughter of James Robert (Bob) Kimbrell and Veda Grace (Funkhouser) Kimbrell.

Ronald Gene Kerns,75, of Norris City passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at Linda White Hospice House in Evansville, IN. He was born on December 13, 1950 in Carmi the son of Al and Annie Victoria (Owens) Kerns.

Richard Eugene Rogers, 75, of Carmi, Illinois, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026, at his home. He was born on Thursday, January 25, 1951, in Fairfield, Illinois, a son of Charles Joseph and Betty Joyce (McCluskey Rogers. On September 25, 1977, he married Peggy Ann Scott and together they have shared over 48 years of marriage.
