John Walter McKay Jr, age 77, of Carmi, IL passed away peacefully at his home on May 19, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.

John Vaught LaBeaume, of Washington, D.C., passed away on May 6, 2026. 

Born on August 9, 1973, in St. Louis, Missouri, John was the son of Rembert Watson LaBeaume, Jr. and Karen Vaught LaBeaume.

Paul Arthur Wells, 71, of McLeansboro, IL passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, IL.

Paul was born on August 16, 1954 in East St. Louis, IL to Arthur & Alice (Moore) Wells.

Barbara Jean Henson, 70, of Crossville, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana, with her family close by. She was born on Thursday, April 19, 1956, in Eldorado, Illinois, and raised in New Haven, Illinois, a daughter of Roy and Louise (Pyle) Clifford.

 Sarah Marie DeLap, 78, of Norris City entered her Eternal Life on Sunday, May 17, 2026 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on October 17, 1947 in Norris City the daughter of Everett and Gwendolyn (Sibly) Hamilton. Sarah married Harold DeLap on May 17, 2000 in Kentucky, and they shared 26 years of marriage together.

 Dolores Deane Fleck, 88, of Carmi passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026 at Heart to Heart Hospice House in Evansville, IN. She was born on October 29, 1937 in White County, IL the daughter of Louis Joseph and Lily Belle (Allen) Anselment. Deane married Merrel Allen Fleck on February 28, 1960 and they shared over 61 years of marriage together until his passing on September 19, 2021. Deane retired as the Assistant Vice President of First Bank. She was a longtime of member of First Baptist Church in Carmi. Deane loved to sew, play the piano, do yard work, and spend time with family, especially her grandkids.

Teresa Lynn Stallings, 64, of Harrisburg and formerly of Carmi passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at SIH Herrin Hospital. She was born on April 2, 1962 in Carmi the daughter of Donald M. Douthitt, Sr. and Pearl (Dant) Douthitt. Teresa's favorite hobby was collecting rocks.

Elmer Francis Weccele, Jr.,69, of Carmi, IL passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at his home in Carmi.  Elmer was born on May 19, 1956 in Chicago, IL to Elmer F. Weccele, Sr. & Frances (Murphy) Weccele.  On October 5, 2012 he married Gina (Brinkley) Weccele, who survives.

Jenell Hayden was born on June 11, 1932, in Livingston, TN and passed away peacefully on May 9, 2026, in Gilmer, Texas. She lived a life filled with love, care, and dedication to her family and the simple joys of nature.

 Charles W. Brockett, 90, of Norris City passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2026 in Evansville, IN. He was born on December 23, 1935 in Dale, IL the son of Harry Dale and Louella (Wooldridge) Brockett. Charles married Georgianna Smith on July 12, 1958 at Braden Valley Church west of Dale and they shared over 64 years of marriage until her passing on March 25, 2023. He attended First Baptist Church in Norris City. Charles was a Mason joining in 1958 as a member of Walpole Tuscan Lodge #630, and American Legion. Charles retired as a technician for Verizon. His hobbies included, working around his house and reading.
