Rodney Lynn Legg, 75, of Wayne City, IL passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.  Rodney was born September 25, 1949 in Mt. Vernon, IL to Lowell & Dorothy (Niccum) Legg.  On June 22, 1968 he married Brenda (Guilliams) Legg, who survives.  He graduated from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL in 1971 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Education.

Eddie Ray Ellison, 69, passed away on April 25, 2025 at home in Carmi. Eddie was born on November 28, 1955 in Mcleansboro, IL the son of Clarence Edward and Oma (Crayne) Ellison.

Robert Euell “Bob” Scott, 95, of McLeansboro, IL passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Silver Foxes Senior Living and Rehabilitation in McLeansboro.  He was born on September 6, 1929 in Broughton, IL to George and Grace (Faries) Scott.

     John Calvin Scharer, 75, of Carmi, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025. He was born on June 4, 1949, in Battle Creek, Michigan, the son of Wilbur D. and Mary Ann (Krawczyk) Scharer. John enjoyed gardening fresh food, swimming, bike riding, Kayaking and fishing. He loved being in nature. John moved to Carmi from Ashland, Oregon three years ago to be close to family.

 Philip Endicott Stocke, 80, of Carmi, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at Linda White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana.  He was born November 27, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois.

Kern Doerner, 91, of Norris City, Illinois peacefully passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at his home. He was born March 25, 1934, on the family’s home place, south of Norris City.

Tonyja Kay (Hosick) Cruse, age 69 of McLeansboro, IL. passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at St. Mary’s Hospital, St. Louis, MO. Tonyja was born October 10, 1955 in McLeansboro, IL.

Aspen RaeLynn Nelson, age 2, of Brownsville, went to rest in the arms of Jesus on Friday, April 18, 2025, from her home. She was born on Friday, March 3, 2023, in Evansville, Indiana, the daughter of Elizabeth Nicole Hast and Justin Ryan Nelson.

      Joseph “Joe” Franklin Hosick, Jr., born on May 13, 1948, in Eldorado, Illinois, joined his parents, Joseph and Zella Hosick, on April 4, 2025.

 Patsy Ruth Ackerman, 92, of Carmi, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025. She was born on November 7, 1932, in San Angelo, Texas, the daughter of Hurbert O.Williams and Ruby E. (Clark) Jones.
