Carla Jean McCormick, 58, of Enfield, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana. She was born on September 27, 1966, in Carmi, Illinois, the daughter of Billy Gene and Mildred Agnes (Dauby) Aker. Carla graduated from Carmi High School in 1984, and went on to attend Murray State University for a time. She married Jerry Ellis McCormick on October 15, 1988, and he survives. Carla was a member of St. Polycarp Catholic Church in Carmi. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, and watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball. Carla loved her cats and all animals, but most of all, she loved being with her family.

Verna Lee Etienne, 96, of Carmi, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Wabash Senior Living in Carmi. She was born on March 10, 1929, in Hamilton County, Illinois, the daughter of Ellery and Ruby (Smith) Woodrow. Verna married Joseph Wilburn Etienne on January 12, 1948, and he preceded her in death on February 21, 1986. She worked at Airtex in Fairfield for over 40 years. Verna had attended the Springerton Church of Jesus Christ. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and loved spending time with family.

On January 6, 1967, Rose married Homer Wilson Cameron and together they shared over 42 years of marriage, before his passing to glory on August 12, 2009.

On March 29, 2002, Steve married Sandra Elaine Broster in Henderson, KY and together they have shared over 23 years of marriage.

Dorothy Ann Pollard, 87, of Carmi, Illinois, sadly passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025, in Dunedin, Florida. She was born in Thackeray, Illinois, on July 20, 1937, the daughter of Andrew and Violet (Campbell) McMahan. Dorothy married Donald G. Pollard on November 4, 1953. She spent several years as a press operator at the Sewing Factory in Enfield, and later as a homemaker. Dorothy was a feisty, stubborn and funny woman who was so loved by her family and was truly one of a kind. She attended First Baptist Church in Carmi. Dorothy was an avid bingo player and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren which she adored.

Robert A. Parker, 78, of Carmi, formerly of McLeansboro passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Carmi Manor. He was born in Eldorado, Illinois, on July 18, 1946, the son of Thomas Abraham and Ellen Elizabeth (Harrelson) Parker. Robert faithfully served his country in the United State Marine Corp during the Vietnam War, starting at Camp Pendleton before going to Okinawa, Japan and later Danang, Vietnam. After returning from the service, Robert worked as an over the road truck driver and more recently locally for area farmers.
