Jerry Lee Holman, 36, of Carmi, IL., passed away on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was born on September 21, 1988, in Kentucky, the son of Charles Keith and Vickie (Fishback) Holman. Jerry enlisted in the Army as an infantryman. Following his time in the service, he worked at Sabic and BWXT in Mt. Vernon, IN. He loved to fish, go duck hunting, and watch the St. Louis Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

June Eileen (Cleveland) Doss, 68, rural Dundas, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2025 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. after a heroic battle with cancer.  Her husband, John F. Doss, 79, rural Dundas, died Aug. 21, 2025 at their home.

David F. Nelson, 79, of Norris City, IL., passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Deaconess Midtown in Evansville, IN. He was born on February 19, 1946, in Eldorado, IL., the son of Doyle and Norinne (Beaty) Nelson.

JoAnne Marie Seidel, 81, of Belle Rive, IL, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Silver Foxes Senior Living and Rehabilitation in McLeansboro with family by her side.  She was born on April 19, 1944 in Kane County, IL to her parents Clyde Russell & Marjorie Eleanor Richards.  On Christmas Eve in 1966, she married Robert William Seidel, II, who survives.

Sandra June “Sandy” (Cheshire) Carr, 65, of McLeansboro, IL passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at her home in McLeansboro.  Sandy was born on August 17, 1960 in Bicester Village, England to Brian & Barbara Cheshire.  On December 28, 2022 she married Gary Eugene Carr, who survives.

Arvia Bell James, 82, of Carmi, Illinois passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on Thursday, June 17, 1943, in Burkesville, Kentucky, a daughter of James and Ella (Vincent) Sheckles.

Melissa A. Fitzgerald, 72, of Crossville passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, July 28, 2025, at her residence in Crossville. Melissa was born on February 16, 1953, the daughter of Fred Grimwood and Ethel Maxine (Hanks) Grimwood.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, William "Junior" Joseph Hodgson, Jr., 69, on August 17, 2025, in Evansville, Indiana. He was born on November 5th, 1955, in Carmi, the son of William Joseph and Leota (Waddle) Hodgson Sr. of Grayville, IL.

Kellie Jene Elliott, 64, of Westminster, SC passed away on August 16, 2025 at Franklin Hospital in Benton, IL.  Kellie was born on December 2, 1960 in Boise, ID to Neil & Judy (Hughes) Woods.

Richard Lee Clark, 89, of McLeansboro, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 with his wife by his side.  He was born at home in Jefferson County, IL on October 26, 1938 to Columbus James “Doc” & Verdie Faye Clark.  On October 31, 1964, he married Garnet Ann Griesemer, who survives.
