Janice M. Miller, 78, of McLeansboro and formerly of Carmi passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado, IL. She was born in Chicago, IL the daughter of Louis James and Evelyn A. (Zappendorf) Bozendorf. Janice served her community as a nurse for over 40 plus years. She loved her cat boo, enjoyed watching the movies The Birds, The Fog, and the Harry Potter series. She was a fan of Queen Elizabeth, loved learning anything about Scotland and Canada. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Marion Ray Hutchison, 73, of Carmi died peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Fairfield, IL the son of William “Bill” Hutchison and Ruth Marian (Musgrave) West. Marion married Janice Whetstone on June 20, 1981, and they shared over 44 years of marriage together. He was an auto body repairman for many years, and later in life ran a furniture restoration business and was known for his meticulous work. He loved gardening, camping, and just being outdoors. He also was an avid golf fan. He attended Zion Methodist Church. Marion most of all loved his family and spending time with them.

  Larry G. Goff, 70, of Carmi passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at his residence in Carmi. He was born in Mt. Vernon, IN the son of Robert L. and Helen Maxine (Rumble) Goff.

Stephanie Ann Dennis, 72, of Carmi, IL, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025, in Evansville, IN. She was born on May 24, 1953, in Spokane, Washington, the daughter of Malcolm and Verna (Wehrle) Rudolph. Stephanie married Tony L. Dennis on August 10, 1978, and they shared nearly 32 years of marriage until Tony’s passing on July 17, 2010.

Alice Rachel (Peyton) Duvall, 90, of Crossville, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025. She was born on Friday, March 22, 1935, in Carmi, Illinois, a daughter of James Henry and Ruby E. (Leonard) Peyton. Alice married Frank Giltner Duvall on February 20, 1953, and together they shared 56 years of marriage until his passing on February 2009. 

Dorothy Mae (Benson) Borne, 88, of Broughton, IL, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at her home.  Dorothy was born on December 7, 1936 in Fouke, Arkansas to William “Bryant” Benson & Rosa Josie (Harrin) Benson.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Scott Edward McGuire, who died on August 12, 2025, at the age of 57 at his home in Albion, Illinois. Scott was born at Fairfield Memorial Hospital on November 7, 1967, and lived in Mt. Vernon and Ellery, IL, throughout his childhood.

Linda Lou (Bowers) Veatch, 84, passed away peacefully at her home in Hoodville, IL on Saturday, September 6, 2025.  Linda was the wife of Norman R. Veatch, the mother of Rebecca (Veatch) Karcher & husband Larry Karcher, and the grandmother of John Christopher Kramer.

Raymond "Ray" Francis Healy, 74, of Norris City, IL, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at his residence. He was born on March 11, 1951, in Houston, TX, the son of Raymond Felix and Mary Ann (Butler) Healy.

Janet Kay Woolsey, 80, of Carmi, IL, peacefully went to Heaven on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at her residence in Carmi, IL surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on September 16, 1944, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Virtus and Helen Blanche (Musgrave) Winter.
