Back on Friday, the Carmi-White County Girls Track team took part in the IHSA Sectional meet at Hamilton County and two Lady Bulldogs punched their ticket to the IHSA State Finals.

Junior Ashlyn Rager and sophomore Torrie Rider will represent CWC at this weekend’s IHSA State Track Meet. Rider placed 2nd in Shot Put with a throw of 35.9 feet, and Rager placed 1st in Discus with a throw of 115.2 feet. It is the second consecutive year that Rager has qualified for the state finals in discus. The duo will travel to Eastern Illinois University in Charleston on Thursday for preliminaries. Congratulations and best of luck to Ashlyn Rager and Torrie Rider.

The Carmi-White County baseball team added one last regular season game to their schedule at the last minute, they traveled to Mt. Vernon (IN) for the 2nd time this year on Saturday. The Bulldogs jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the 1st inning, but the offense stalled for the remainder of the game as Mt. Vernon came back to win it 4-3.

The Bulldogs end the regular season with a 20-8 record, it is their first 20-win season since 2006.

Carmi will begin regionals on Thursday in Mt. Carmel as they take on Fairfield.

The CWC Softball team will also begin regionals this week, they will travel to Fairfield on Wednesday where they will play either Fairfield or Mt. Carmel.

Congratulations to head coach Clinton Wolff and the CWC Boys Track Team. Back on Thursday, they brought home 1st Place at the Black Diamond Conference Meet at Hamilton County. It is the first time the Bulldogs have won the BDC since 2012.
