      Richard Leonard Geier, 79, of Carmi, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Wabash Senior Living. He was born on June 27, 1945, in Monroe County, Wisconsin, the son of Leonard and Stella (Erickson) Geier.

     Reta Faye Blair, 86, of Carmi, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. She was born on March 16, 1938, in White County, the daughter of Halsey Fred and Mary Myrtle (Hon) Higginson.

 Jane Shelow, 83, of Carmi, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana. Born on July 6, 1941, in Maunie, Illinois, she was the daughter of Roy and Mabel (Webb) McDaniel.

Melbalene “Melba” Rhine, 66, of McLeansboro, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024 at her home in McLeansboro with family by her side.  She was born in McLeansboro on September 16, 1958 to William Estill Drew & Ruth (Wheat) Drew. 

     Shirley Ann Eckles, 90, of Enfield, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at Bethel Manor in Evansville, IN. She was born on November 14, 1934, in Springerton, the daughter of Lyle and Louise (York) Melvin.

Ossie L. Handley, 75 of Canton, Missouri passed away Monday, November 11, 2024 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.

The son of Ferrell and Jane Crawford Handley was born on November 18, 1948 in Carmi, Illinois.

 Linda (Hale) Skelton, 78, of Evansville, IN passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at West River Health Campus in Evansville, IN. She was born in White County, IL on May 26, 1946, the daughter of Noble Wayne and Veda E. (Downen) Hale.

Janice Kay Horn, 79, of Enfield, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024. She was born on October 16, 1945, in Enfield, Illinois, the daughter of Warren and Ruby (Crawford) Williams. Jan married Bill Horn on January 31, 1972, and he survives. She worked at the Enfield sewing factory and later became the owner and operator and cook at the Echo Restaurant and Motel. Jan was a lifetime member of the Enfield Christian Church. She was a wonderful cook and made everyone's birthday cakes. Jan was great at decorating and enjoyed decorating the church for each season and also decorated all of the Tequila's restaurants. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.  Jan loved her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them and other family members. She always loved having all the kids over in the summer to enjoy swimming in the pool.

Karen Sue Tolley, 61, of Carmi, IL, formerly of McLeansboro, IL, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2024 at her home in Carmi Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Carmi.  She was born August 1, 1963 in Elgin, IL to Ray Edward and Elsie Faye (Terrell) Tolley.

William L. “Bill” Yates, 77, of Carmi, Illinois, died Friday, November 22, 2024, at Silver Foxes Senior Living and Rehabilitation in McLeansboro, Illinois. He was born November 26, 1946, in Evansville, Indiana, the son of Oscar and Mary (Yates) Yates. He was married to Erma (Browning) Yates, and she survives.
