It has been less than 10 days since 39-year-old William Wilson has been back behind bars.
On May 6th, Wilson entered into a plea deal that addressed charges of Aggravated Battery and one count of Threatening a Public Official. This agreement required him to serve two years of probation and complete a mental health assessment. Charges of Assault and Criminal Trespass were dismissed. On Thursday, Wilson was arrested again after he entered a neighbor’s residence, threatened to kill those present, and refused to leave. Once officers from the Carmi Police and White County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene, Wilson fled back to his residence and barricaded himself inside. He then proceeded to threaten officers.
Officers were able to detain Wilson and take him to the White County Jail, where he again faces the same charges he received just two months ago, plus more. Those include: Reckless Conduct, Criminal Damage to Property, Criminal Trespass to Real Property, Resisting a Peace Officer, Assault, two counts of Aggravated Intimidation, and Threatening a Public Official.
Wilson will be behind bars until he can see a judge.
