Traffic Stop Nets Drug Arrest

A Carmi man was arrested on multiple drug related charges Wednesday morning just before noon.

David H. Newman, 39, 501 Maple Street, was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of cannabis in a motor vehicle and improper use of registration or title following a traffic stop in the 100 block of Fifth Street.

Newman remained in custody early Thursday morning.
