A Carmi man is behind bars after local police picked him up on an active White County warrant Friday morning. It was around a quarter after 9am when local authorities arrested 60-year-old Clarence Martin of 6th Street. He’s charged with Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault, Criminal Sexual Assault, and Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse. A search of online court records showed no such case as of 8:30am; it has since been uploaded (the alleged offense was charged on May 3rd) and he’s due in front of a judge at 10am Monday. He’s currently housed in the White County Jail.
48-year-old Bobby Morrill Jr. is behind bars awaiting a hearing Monday morning after Carmi Police
picked him up Sunday morning. Officers say they found Morrill Jr. walking near the intersection of Summit and 8th just before 11am Sunday and knew he was wanted on a Failure to Appear warrant. The warrant is related to a March 21st incident in which Morrill Jr. is facing charges of Driving on a Revoked License and Improper Lane Usage. Morrill Jr. was taken into custody without incident. He’s due in court at 10am Monday morning.
