The White County Sheriff’s Office Apprehended Many Individuals for a Slew of Charges

The White County Sheriff Troopers demonstrated their efficiency and dedication by making a handful of arrests this past week, including five individuals wanted for warrants.

Up first was Jason Sigmund JR, who turned himself in for two warrants, one for Edwards County for an Aggravated DUI and the other for a Hamilton County warrant for Driving on a Revoked License.

Another significant arrest was Braddon Turrentine, who was apprehended for a White County warrant for Unlawful Use of Property. Turrentine, a repeat offender, had previously been sentenced to seven years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for the same charge, with other charges dismissed on March 7th. The warrant was issued on March 18th.

Carmi native William Wolf was arrested on a White County warrant for Failure to Appear on his second offense of Driving While his License was Revoked in 2022.

The White County Sheriff’s Department took 38-year-old Christina McKay to Jail in March for her Failure to Appear warrant for the Criminal Trespass to Land charge.

In response to a property dispute call involving Ryan Hebner and his brother Kyle, an officer was informed of a current warrant for Ryan’s arrest. The warrant, stemming from a Failure to Appear in Kendall County, led to Ryan’s transportation to the White County Jail for a possible extradition.

A Carbondale man was pulled over after an officer noticed 45-year-old Danny Stephens driving a Honda 125F motorcycle. When run through dispatch, the bike came back stolen from Franklin County. Two citations were given to Stephens: Possession of Stolen Property and Illegal Operation of ATV of Roadway.

Rounding out the White County Sheriff’s Department arrests, Garrett Butler. Butler was driving a Ford F350 when an officer noticed that he did not use his blinker when making a turn and swerving over the center line of the road. The officer ran Butler’s driver’s license, which was suspended. The truck was towed, and Butler was issued a Notice to Appear with a court date for the citation for driving with a suspended license.
