Suspicious Vehicle Ends With Three Arrested

A report was received of a suspicious woman standing by the road on Highway 1. The responding Wabash County Sheriff’s Deputy did not locate a woman, but instead found a GMC SUV at a burned out residence that he thought was odd. The vehicle had Indiana plates and a piece of wood obstructing the registration. Inside were three individuals, in which the deputy ran each one through dispatch. 25-year-old Madison Pennington was in the driver’s seat. Pennington had a Suspended Driver’s License as well as two active Kentucky warrants, one out of Richland County and the other in Henderson County.  Another female, Ashlie Watson, 25 of Evansville, also had an active warrant but hers was in Vanderburgh County. The male subject, Jason McGill, 43 of Mt. Carmel, had an active White County warrant.

Upon further investigation, McGill had been incarcerated in Vanderburgh County and was released four days prior. McGill and Pennington acquired the SUV from a person McGill was incarcerated with, but had it without the person’s consent. McGill and Pennington were charged with Possession of a Stolen Vehicle. Pennington received an additional charge of Possession of Methamphetamine.

All three individuals were transported to the White County Jail.
