Grayville Woman Arrested Wednesday After Alleged Battery; Attempting to Bite Chief and Break Windows in Squad Truck

A Grayville woman is behind bars at the White County Jail.  She’s due in Edwards County court Friday on a separate charge, but was placed under arrest after an incident mid day Wednesday.  Grayville Chief of Police Mason Siegel responded to a report of a battery on Spring Street just after 11:30am.

After talking with both Alyssa Brown, Siegel says he asked her to remain in the back seat of his car while he spoke with John Kissee.  While talking with Kissee and observing a fresh injury, the chief says he heard loud banging coming from the patrol vehicle and found her aggressively striking the window.  She was eventually determined to be the likely primary aggressor in the altercation and while Siegel was placing her under arrest, the report indicates she became irate, striking the vehicle with her hands, attempting to flee, and she also bit the side of Siegel’s boot.  On the trip to the White County Jail, Brown repeatedly struck her head against the partition separating the detained and the detainer.  She faces charges of Obstructing a Peace Officer and Aggravated Battery to a Peace Officer.

She’s due in Edwards County court Friday on a Delivery of Meth charge that dates back to February 20th of 2024.
