The White County Chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace is going back to building beds next month. Kyle Fenton, the head of the local unit says the group will be joining with chapters across 46 states all working to build beds on June 12th. The task is part of the organization’s Bunks Across America initiative. Interested individuals are welcome to volunteer or donate. The bed build will be held at Rice Motors in Carmi and Fenton says he expects work to begin around 9am. There will be around 150 chapters all building on the same day and they have a goal of completing 7,500 beds built across the country. Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a 501©3 national non-profit whose mission is to “end child bedlessness” and ensure that no child sleeps on the floor.
