A New Haven man is out on a Notice to Appear following his arrest early Saturday morning. Carmi Police pulled over 44-year-old James Cartmill at Rock Bottom at about a quarter after 2am. He was subsequently arrested for having unsealed, open cannabis in a motor vehicle and was also found to be in operation of a vehicle with suspended registration with no insurance. Cartmill was taken to the White County Jail, processed and released with a notice to appear under the Pre-Trial Fairness Act. Online court records don’t yet indicate when that court date is as of Monday morning. Cartmill’s vehicle was towed from the scene by Cherry Street Automotive personnel.
