A Carmi woman was in court Tuesday following her arrest about 12:30pm Monday. Carmi Police say they were called to 46-year-old Vicky Raney’s home on Illinois Street in response to an altercation. Upon further investigation, officers found probable cause and arrested Raney for Domestic Battery against a 21-year-old victim. Raney was taken into custody and had a first appearance Tuesday before Judge Webb. Online court records indicate the Domestic Battery charge was dismissed as per a plea agreement which saw Raney plead guilty to a lesser charge of Disorderly Conduct. The court withheld judgement and gave Raney 2 years of supervision and a fine. She’ll be due for a review in January.
