NCOE Board gets update on summer maintenance

The NCOE Board of Education held their monthly meeting July 19th in the Superintendent’s office. The amended minutes were approved and the bills for the month were approved as presented.

Summer maintenance projects are well underway at all of the schools. The Board and Administrators all commented on the outstanding work being done by the custodians and summer work crew.

The Board set the fees for the 2017-2018 school year. The lunch prices will be $2.45 at the elementary schools and $2.60 at the high school. Breakfast will remain $1.00 along with adult lunch at $3.00. Athletic fees for sporting events will remain the same. The book rental fee will be $40 for elementary and $50 for high school.

The student handbooks were approved by the Board and will be given to students on the first day of school. The high school will hold registration for Sophomores and Juniors August 9th; August 7th for Freshman and August 8th for Seniors.

Band Camp will be August 9th and 10th.

Brenda Moore was employed as NCO cook. Beth York was employed as Booth cook. Joe Skaggs will be the new Golf Coach.

In other business the Board:

– Accepted the resignation of Linda Ellison as NCO cook.

– Accepted the resignation of Evan Wyllie as golf coach.

– Accepted the White County Emergency Mitigation Plan.
