The following subjects were arrested by the Mt. Carmel Police Department. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
07/08/2016-Mt. Carmel Police arrested John T.W. Schonaman, age 25, of Browns after he was stopped for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop the arresting officer reported smelling alcohol coming from the person of Schonaman. After performing field sobriety testing Schonaman was placed under arrest for suspicion of drunk driving. Schonaman was cited for improper lane usage and DUI. Schonaman was held pending the posting of bond.
07/09/2016-A traffic stop resulted in two subjects being arrested and taken to the Wabash County Jail. According to the police report, Kyria J. Linson, age 32, of Mt. Carmel was stopped after the reporting officer recognized Linson behind the wheel of a 2005 Dodge van. The officer knew that Linson was driving on a revoked Illinois Driver’s License and therefore initiated a traffic stop. During the traffic stop it was discovered that a passenger in the vehicle was in possession of drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine. The passenger was identified as Daniel J. Hall, age 33, of Mt. Carmel. Linson was charged with driving while revoked and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Linson posted bond and was released. Hall is being charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Hall is being held pending the posting of bond.
