The following subjects were arrested by the Mt. Carmel Police Department. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
07/05/2016- Mt. Carmel Police were called to the 400 block of N. Cherry Street reference someone knocking loudly on the front door of the residence. Upon arrival, Officers located a Austin J. Olvera, age 19, of Longwood, Florida. The responding officer reported smelling an alcoholic beverage smell coming from the person of Olvera and knew he was under the age of 21. Olvera was arrested for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. Olvera was also arrested for possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, and disorderly conduct. Olvera was transported to the Wabash County Jail and held pending the posting of bond.
On 07/08/2016, at approximately 0724 hours, Mt. Carmel Police responded to a domestic situation at 531 N. Pear Street in Mt. Carmel. Upon arrival, MCPD Officers found a Daniel J. Hall, age 33, of Mt. Carmel in the street bleeding from his hand. Hall advised that his girlfriend, Valerie C. Schrader, age 36, of Mt. Carmel had cut him in the hand with the a knife. Police made contact with Schrader and located the knife believed to have cut Hall. Both subjects admitted to being in an altercation that lead to Hall being cut with the knife. Schrader was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where she is being held on 1 count of aggravated domestic battery. Hall was transported to Wabash General Hospital where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
