The following subjects were arrested by the Mt. Carmel Police Department. All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
07/02/2016-Mt. Carmel Police arrested Bret W. Ashby, age 56, of Evansville, after he was stopped for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop it was discovered that Ashby was operating on a suspended driver’s license. Ashby was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with driving while suspended.
07/04/2016-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 30 year old Clayton S. Kirkman of Mt. Carmel. The arresting officer spotted Kirkman in the 200 block of Walnut Street and knew he was wanted on a Knox County warrant and an Illinois Department of Corrections warrant. Kirkman was taken into custody and transported him to the Wabash County Jail where he was being held without bond.
07/05/2016-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 21 year old Mary A. Cessna of Mt. Carmel after she was stopped for a traffic violation. Police stopped Cessna and suspected she was under the influence of a narcotic. Cessna was subsequently arrested for DUI and transported to Wabash County Jail. Cessna was cited for DUI drugs and failure to wear a seat belt. Cessna was held pending the posting of bond.
Ethan R. Barnes was arrested after MCPD Officer’s were called to a fight at the intersection of 3rd and Plum Street. Mt. Carmel Officer’s were told Barnes was involved in the altercation. It was also discovered that Barnes was around a person that is prohibited from being around. When Police attempted to stop Barnes he fled in a vehicle. Barnes eventually pulled over and was taken into custody. Barnes was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with violation of bond and fleeing and/or attempting to elude a peace officer. Barnes is being held pending the posting of bond.
07/07/2016-Mt. Carmel Police Samantha M. Foshee, age 22, of Mt. Carmel was arrested after she was stopped for driving on a suspended driver’s license. Foshee was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was held pending to the posting of bond.
