A weather related accident claimed the life of a McLeansboro man Wednesday afternoon. Hamilton County authorities stated that 55 year old Tim Thomas was driving on the Blairsville Blacktop near Thackeray at 3:30pm when strong winds blew seven power line poles down.
One of those poles landed on the cab of Thomas’s pickup, killing him instantly.
According to the Evansville Courier & Press, winds also overturned a semi truck on I64 near Fairfield. The driver of that truck was not injured.
