The Bulldogs led 8-0 at halftime and the defense was able to keep the Eagles out of the endzone in the final minutes of the game to hang on with a 6-point victory. The Bulldogs improve to 7-1 on the season, they will host Johnston City this Friday for senior night to wrap up the regular season. Carmel 48, Marshall 21 Paris 26, Robinson 6 Casey-Westfield 28, Olney 6 Lawrenceville 40, Newton 21 Benton 41, Pinckneyville 0 Du Quoin 55, Nashville 24 Anna-Jonesboro 34, West Frankfort 22 Murphysboro 46, Carterville 23 Herrin 17, Harrisburg 7 Red Hill 27, Massac County 7The Carmi-White County Lady Bulldog Volleyball team went 2-3 in the Edwards County and finished in 4th place in the Gold Bracket. The Lady Bulldogs defeated Charleston and Newton, but fell to Effingham, Edwards County and NCOE all in 3 sets. Congratulations to Caroline Simmons for making the all-tournament team. The Lady Bulldogs are now 22-6 on the season. They will travel to Harrisburg tonight and then host Grayville tomorrow for senior night. Back on Friday the CWC Girls Tennis team traveled to Carbondale for the IHSA Sectional. The Lady Bulldogs finished in 2nd place overall and senior Johanna Smith qualified for state in singles. She advances to the state finals this weekend in Chicago. Congratulations to the girls tennis team on a great season and best of luck to Johanna this weekend.
