The Carmi-White County Bulldog baseball team defeated Flora yesterday afternoon in one of the craziest games in CWC Baseball history, 11-10.

The Bulldogs trailed 9-3 heading into the 6th inning. Carmi was able to plate 4 runs in the bottom of the 6th, but Flora answered with 1 in the 7th to make it a 10-7 ballgame. 

With the bases loaded and down to their final strike, senior Trayton Vickers came through with a 3-run base hit to tie the game. 

Merick Millhorn then came to the plate, and nobody could’ve predicted what would happen next.

The Bulldogs improve their record to 17-6 on the year and 6-3 in the Black Diamond Conference. They will close out conference play today as they host Fairfield at Eckerle Park.

The Lady Bulldogs will also host Fairfield today for their final conference game of the year. Fans can listen to today’s game on 97.3 FM WRUL. First pitch is set for 4:30 PM.

The IHSA Released the Baseball and Softball postseason brackets yesterday. 

The Bulldogs are the #3 seed and will play in the Mt. Carmel regional, they will play Fairfield in the regional semifinals on Thursday, May 16th.

The Lady Bulldogs are the #2 seed and they will play in the Fairfield regional, they will play the winner between Hamilton County and Fairfield in the regional semifinals on Wednesday, May 15th. 

The Carmi-White County girls track team ran at the Black Diamond Conference meet at Flora yesterday, and the Lady Bulldogs finished in 3rd Place with a team score of 79.

Addi Elliott brought home a conference championship in Triple Jump.
Caroline Simmons placed 2nd in Triple Jump.
Torrie Rider placed 2nd in Shot Put.
Ashlyn Rager placed 2nd in Discus.
The 4×2 Relay team of Callie Accord, Gabbie Conover, Ally Pollard, and Makyla Seibers finished in 2nd Place.

The Girls Track team will travel to Harrisburg on Monday.

The CWC Boys Track team will travel to Webber-Bluford today.
