What a weekend it was for the Carmi-White County baseball and softball teams. Both teams went a combined 5-0, out-scoring their opponents 56-4.

The Bulldog baseball team defeated Benton on Friday by a final score of 23-2. 

The Bulldogs combined for 16 hits, and Landon Driscoll was dominant on the mound once again. The senior threw 4 innings allowing just 2 runs on 4 hits and 1 walk with 3 strikeouts. 

At the plate, Caleb Seibers and Merick Millhorn both had 4 RBI each as did Maxon O’Daniel, who also hit his first career home run. 

The Bulldogs are on fire, as they improve their record to 7-0. Carmi is also currently ranked #2 in 2A. The Dogs will travel to Red Hill today.

The Lady Bulldog softball team went 4-0 over the weekend, including winning all three games at the Fairfield Invitational Tournament, and taking home the championship.

Carmi defeated Benton 3-2 on Friday, and then on Saturday they defeated NCOE 9-0, Edwards County 8-0, and Sandoval 13-0. 

Senior Audrey Upton earned the win on the mound in all 4 games, and junior Alayna Johnson crushed her 5th home run of the season. 

The Lady Bulldogs are now 6-2 on the season, they will host Mt. Vernon (IL) tomorrow at Archie Brown Memorial Field.
