Fairfieldian Arrested on Meth Charges Tuesday Afternoon in Carmi

While you were at work Tuesday, Carmi Police were placing cuffs on 31-year-old Norman Mier of Fairfield on a slew of charges.  Mier remains behind bars after police stopped him near the corner of Stewart and Hillsdale.  There he was arrested on a Wayne County warrant along with six new White County charges including Possession of Meth, Unlawful Use of Property, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Drug Paraphernalia, and Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle, as well as Driving while License Suspended or Revoked.  He’s due before a judge today (Wednesday) in White County court.  The Wayne County warrant relates to a March 28th arrest there for Possession of Meth and Delivery of the drug.  He’s not entered a plea in that case and is due for a first appearance in Wayne County court on June 13th.
