Due to the all of the information not in yet from the county clerk’s office, the budget for the fiscal year is not ready. It should be ready by the August board meeting, along with the tax levy and the prevailing wage ordinance.
They are still looking for a part-time police officer to work overnights.
The board agreed to give the utility department permission to use its truck to check on the gas odorizer, as the new one, which was put in a couple of years ago, requires it to be checked on daily. They also will look into getting a solar panel to match the battery voltage and look into purchasing a new inexpensive truck that would be used solely to check on the odorizer. An odorizer is a device that adds odorant to a gas so that leaks can be easily detected.
Even though the current tractor mowers are in good working condition, the village will look at purchasing some new mowers for next spring.
And the board decided to see if they could sell buttons to raise money for next year’s Fourth of July celebration and also see if they could insure the fireworks display using the village’s liability insurance instead of getting special insurance each year.
