CWC Unit 5 School Board Meeting Tonight (Monday, 7/15/19)

A busy week of meetings gets underway this evening with the Carmi White County School Board set to assemble at 7pm at Jefferson Attendance Center.  Select Board Policies will be revised as part of the Consent Agenda.  Superintendent Brad Lee will give his report following routine business and the school board will look over the tentative Fiscal Year 2020 budget as well.  Pre K Classroom Aide at Washington, Susan Keck is resigning and the board has several potential employments as part of their post closed session business.  Unit 5 will potentially hire a part time breakfast supervisor for Lincoln, a Jr High Secretary, a Special Education Individual Aide at the Jr. High, two part time Special Ed Bus Aides, a High School Assistant Football Coach, and a High School Volleyball Coach.  In addition to the hires, the Board will also potentially approve multiple volunteer high school assistants for Golf, Girls Tennis and Football.  Also on the agenda is insurance renewals for property/casualty and liability.  The company that provides the insurance to Unit 5 has a new proposal with a premium increase of $5,247, or just under 5% from the expiring contract.  The new premium for approval at tonight’s meeting…$111,725.  To round out tonight’s agenda, Unit 5 Board members will consider accepting a bid from Midwest Bus Sales for a five year lease with purchase option of two – 71 passenger school buses.  The price tag for those buses, $18,185.19 per year per vehicle.  Again the CWC Unit 5 School Board is planned for 7pm this evening.  A WROY/WRUL News reporter will be on scene and provide you details tomorrow morning.
