Crossville Man Reports Burglary Saturday Morning

The White County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary Saturday evening. Matthew S. Denbow told officers a burglary had taken place at his residence at 110 Fourth Street in Crossville at approximately 5:00 a.m. Saturday morning.

Denbow stated he was asleep in his bedroom when he heard what he believed to be medication bottles being opened and pills poured out. When he entered the living room he observed his medication bottles were sitting on top of the table and the window adjacent to the table was open. Denbow stated he had left the window itself open with the screen down when he went to sleep, but the screen was now pushed up as well. He did not see anyone in the area at that time. Denbow had just filled his prescriptions on Friday.

Upon arrival, officers observed the west window on the north facing front porch was open and what appeared to be hand prints in the dirt around the window sill. A large amount of dirt had also been spilled onto the porch from a plant box located under the window that had been knocked over.

Deputy Spencer photographed the scene and an incident report was placed on file at the White County Sheriff’s Department.
