A Carmi man is out on pre trial release following his arrest late Friday night at Wal Mart. Officers picked up 37-year-old John Smith of 8th Street at the retail outlet. According to the report, Smith was wanted on a White County warrant for Assault related to a charge of making a threat against a juvenile and also Disorderly Conduct for allegedly breaching the peace. Smith was booked and released just before midnight.
Another Carmi man, 23-year-old Cory Bailey is awaiting to be seen by a judge Monday morning following his arrest Saturday evening. A Carmi Police Sergeant pulled Bailey over at Oak and 10th Saturday for not having tail lights. Bailey was then arrested on a White County warrant for Aggravated Battery of a person ove the age of 60 and Battery. That warrant dates back to an alleged offense that occurred on August 7th. In addition to the warrant, Bailey was cited for Driving while License Suspended, Bailey’s sixth traffic infraction this year alone including a Fleeing/Attempt to Elude conviction from an offense in July of this year.
