If you remember the excitement that surrounded the West Side Nut Club’s half pot last year, which reached more than 1.2 million dollars, you’ll be happy to know the Carmi Kiwanis Club also noticed and is launching it’s own Corn Days 50/50. With a guaranteed pot starting at $5,000, the club anticipates it going much higher and your first chance to buy in is this weekend at the club’s annual Pancake Day fundraiser. Raffle tickets will be available for $10 each and any US citizen over the age of 18 can purchase as many as they want through the completion of the parade on Saturday, October 10th. The winning number will be selected randomly from the main stage on Saturday night before the headline entertainment kicks off. Following this weekend’s kick off of the Corn Day 50/50, tickets will be available for purchase at Town & Country Barbershop on North Church Street and Blankenship Auto Parts on Cherry Street in Carmi. We anticipate a regularly updated counter being placed on the wrul.com website so that the public will be able to keep up with the growing pot along with information on how to get tickets.
