A Carmi couple rang in the new year behind bars following a domestic dispute that resulted in their arrest. Carmi Police report that 32 year old Ashley and 40 year old Christopher Shelton were arrested about a quarter after 3 in the afternoon last Thursday. Both have been charged with Domestic Battery. Ashley later bonded out while Christopher remained behind bars on Monday. Online court records don’t yet indicate the couple’s first hearing.
If that wasn’t enough, 3 more individuals were arrested on Domestic Battery charges in 2 other separate incidents. 18 year old Justin Morgan of Sycamore Street in Carmi was picked up Friday evening just before 7:30 on a misdemeanor charge of Domestic Battery.
A day later, around a quarter after 11pm, Carmi Police were called to a 2nd Street Carmi residence for an altercation between 38 year old Nicole Mobley and 53 year old Donald Travelstead. Both were cuffed and have been lodged in the White County Jail since early Sunday morning.
