The City of Carmi is upping the ante when it comes to the burn ban currently in place. Officials announced Thursday morning that the yard waste site will be closed to the public until the burn ban has been lifted. There is currently no good chance of rain in the forecast and not a chance at all before Monday of next week. Though the temperature is expected to rise through the weekend, winds are also expected to pick up and could gust upwards of 20 mph daily through Monday.
