Two Carmi Residents Charged with Meth at Parole Officer Visit

Two Beck Street, Carmi residents found themselves in handcuffs again when a regular parole check discovered the pair with illegal drugs and items.  Department of Corrections parole officers showed up at 704 Beck to visit 27 year old Levi Williams and 31 year old Tara Keown.  A field test of one of the items found resulted in a positive indication of meth.  An ensuing search warrant yielded evidence in the form of scales, meth pipes, and a glass bong containing more than 46 grams of liquid which tested positive for meth.  The pair have been charged with possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.  Both Keown and Williams have priors related to meth charges.
