Two Arrested in Crossville

White County Sheriff Doug Maier reported two arrest were made in Crossville Tuesday night, one a warrant arrest, the other arrest covered an alcohol and cannabis violation.

Devin Ray Ward, 29 of 509 Fourth Street, Crossville was arrested by Officer Lucas, who was working for the Crossville Police Department at the time.

Ward was a passenger in a car that was stopped for a busted windshield. During the stop, White County Deputy Sheriff Scott Cantrell arrived on scene. Cantrell recognized Ward in the back seat and knowing him to be wanted, he placed Ward under arrest.

Ward was wanted on a White County warrant for failure to appear on a charge of theft.

Bond was set at $500.

Earlier Tuesday evening, Officer Lucas stopped Jeffery R. Rawlinson, 19 of 310 Stewart Street, Carmi. Rawlinson was stopped on Main Street, in Crossville for driving with no headlights on.

Authorities discovered a bottle of wine in Rawlinson’s vehicle and while it was not open, he was charged with illegal possession of alcohol.

Deputy Cantrell arrived on scene and continued the search and after Rawlinson told authorities he had marijuana in his pocket, he was searched.
Authorities helped secure Rawlinson’s vehicle and transported him to the city county jail in carmi, where he was cited for possession of cannabis less than 10 grams and bond was set at $150 on the illegal possession of alcohol charge.
