Two Arrested Following Chase Wednesday Afternoon

Two wanted men are behind bars following their arrest Wednesday afternoon in White County.  Sheriff Jordan Weiss says he was alerted by Gallatin County law enforcement of an ongoing pursuit in the Ridgway area around 3pm.  One of the men being pursued was known to be Colton Hansbrough, wanted out of Gallatin County on a warrant for Burglary and Hardin County on a warrant for Escape.  The vehicle would evade law enforcement but then crashed on County Road 800 East, about 2 miles north of Plainview Church.  When law enforcement arrived, no occupants were found in the vehicle.  A resident of a home near where the crash happened told officers the two men in the vehicle had been picked up and driven from the scene.  Sheriff Weiss says the individual who had picked up the two males didn’t know about the situation and simply noticed them walking down the road in search of a ride.

Upon further investigation, Weiss says it was determined where the two men had been dropped off.  He and other law enforcement arrived and spoke with the homeowner who advised she wasn’t sure if Hansbrough was inside, but did give consent to search.  Four individuals were located including Hansbrough who was found hiding in a closet.  Hansbrough was taken into custody and issued an additional charge of resisting arrest.  A second individual, Jordan Thomas was also arrested on a Failure to Appear warrant out of Clay County and an additional warrant out of Effingham County.
