A Carmi man was arrested Wednesday morning following a foot chase through Danny’s Pool Room and up Main Street.
At 9:47 am, Carmi Police observed 43 year old Kelly King as a passenger in a vehicle as it pulled into the lot behind Danny’s Pool Room. After the vehicle was stopped, King was informed he had an active Edwards County warrant.
King then took off on foot through Danny’s and out the front door across Main Street. He was eventually captured near Main and Church Streets.
A search of the vehicle and the immediate area produced a pipe that tested positive for methamphetamine. A further search of the vehicle produced numerous items, including drug paraphernalia, brass knuckles, and ammunition.
As a result, the driver of the vehicle, 33 year old Tiffany Weidenburner of Carmi was also taken into custody. She has been charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of hypodermic syringes, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, and possession of ammunition by a felon. Weidenburner is being held without bond at the White County Jail pending a court hearing.
King is being held at the White County Jail on a $2000 bond on the Edwards County warrant and without bail on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of hypodermic syringes, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, and possession of ammunition without a FOID card.
