Travelstead Arrested on Warrant; Mullins Cited After Late Night County Stop

Sheriff’s authorities made a warrant arrest just before 7pm Wednesday.  A deputy was on patrol on Sycamore near Seventh Street in Carmi and says he observed 62-year-old Richard Travelstead pushing a bike with a trailer.  Travelstead was wanted on a White County warrant for Failure to Appear.  That warrant relates to a February of 2022 arrest in which he was found guilty of Improper Use of Property in relation to Methamphetamine.  In July of that year, he was given 4 years of probation.  Travelstead was arrested and held at the White County Jail before being seen by Judge T Scott Webb Thursday morning.

A Crossville man is back on the streets following his arrest Tuesday night in rural White County.  A White County Sheriff’s Deputy was assisting another on a traffic stop when he says he noticed a set of headlights slowly approaching and then turning onto County Road 2000 North.  After finishing the stop, the officers decided to head towards Crossville where they say they approached the F150 in question and noticed the driver was unable to maintain the lane.  After running the license plate, they say the registration came back suspended and they initiated a stop.  Once pulled over, law enforcement say they observed a can of beer and the driver would eventually hand over part of a marijuana cigarette.  Field sobriety tests were administered and no signs of impairment were found according to the report.  The driver, Kendan Mullins of Crossville was then given 3 citations; Operation of a vehicle with Cancelled Registration, Illegal Transportation of an Alcoholic Beverage, and Possession of Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle.  Mullins’ vehicle was towed from the scene and he was given a Notice to Appear for 9:30am September 24th.
