Carmi Police made two arrests following a traffic stop Wednesday afternoon. At 2:15 pm, a vehicle driven by 27 year old Jon Ealey of Carmi was stopped in the Pundrakes parking lot. Ealey was taken into custody on a White County warrant for failure to appear. A search of the vehicle turned up two cannabis pipes and portable scales. A passenger, 20 year old Tessa Pierce of Omaha was also taken into custody on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both Ealey and Pierce were transported to the White County Jail. Pierce was released after posting a $2000 bond while Ealey remains in custody on a $500 bond.
Just after 6pm Wednesday, Carmi Police responded to a 5th Street residence and arrested 45 year old Jeffrey Churchwell of Carmi on charges of criminal trespass, assault, and disorderly conduct. Churchwell is being held at the White County Jail without bond pending a court hearing.
