Stevens and Bond Busted
A Carmi man who has been in trouble for drugs before was busted on several charges Wednesday afternoon, after he tried to hide from local police.
According to Carmi Chief of Police Jason Carter and the police incident report, James Christian Stevens, 22, 105 Fairview Drive and 35 year old Heather D. Bond were arrested around 2:45 Wednesday after police learned Stevens was at the residence.
Knowing him to be wanted for unlawful delivery of methamphetamine, authorities arrived at the residence, where Bond told police Stevens was not at the residence, but gave police an okay to search the home.
The search discovered Stevens hiding in the attic. He was arrested and transported to the City County jail, where he remained early Thursday morning. Bond was set at $7500.
Heather Bond was also arrested and charged with obstructing justice and concealing or hiding a fugitive. Her bond was set at $1500. She also remained in custody early Thursday.
