Illinois State Police as released their enforcement results from nighttime patrols conducted in December specifically in Saline, Gallatin, and Wayne County. The patrols were specially focused on the hours between 9pm and 6am. The Saline and Gallatin County patrols resulted in 21 written warnings, a total of 4 citations or arrests; they found 2 insurance violations and 3 driver’s license offenses plus another registration offense. The Wayne County patrols were slightly more productive with a total of 37 written warnings, but troopers there only wrote one citation. They did find 6 drivers with registration offenses however.
That update provides a perfect segue/reminder that Driver’s License facilities across the state reopen today. Secretary of State Jesse White says licenses and ID card expiration dates have been extended to June 1st and reminds the public many of your needs can be met through the office’s online home at http://www.cyberdriveillinois.com. If you are planning to stop in a “DMV”, make sure you remember to take your face mask as it will be required and expect social distancing measures to be in place.
