Sheriff Department Busy Weekend

Sheriff’s Reports

An Enfield man was jailed, a burglary, nails in the road and criminal damage were incidents covered by the White County Sheriff’s Department this Memorial Day weekend.

Dustin Lee Pierce, 43 of 262 County Road 1525 North, Enfield was placed in custody after authorities responded to a call of domestic battery early Sunday morning.

According to the incident report, Brandi Pierce, 38, reported Dustin had hit her, causing a black eye and facial bruises. She also reported Dustin had hit her dog with a hammer, when the dog got between the two. The report indicated the dog was fine and did not require medical attention.

Dustin Pierce was arrested at his residence. He is facing a domestic battery charge and an outstanding warrant. He remained in custody early Tuesday morning.

Shortly after noon Monday, the sheriff’s office received a report of burglary from Rory Lambert of rural Barnhill.

The report indicated a 2004 Honda TRX250 Four wheeler and a 17 inch Stihl chainsaw were taken from a building on his property. The report noted a lock had been cut, allowing access to the building where the property was stored.

Monday evening around 6:30, Carrie M. Campbell, 23 of 1352 County Road 1125 East, Carmi, reported criminal damage to a vehicle. Apparently someone poured what appeared to be sunscreen on the vehicle and wrote something in the sun screen, which was unable to be read.

Shortly after 8, Saturday night, county officials responded to a report of nails on the roadway at the intersection of County Orad 450 North and County Road 1975 East (Herald blacktop).

Regina M. McConville of rural Norris City reported the nails.

Authorities photographed the area and then assisted in cleaning up the nails.

That investigation along with the burglary and criminal damage reports remain under investigation.
