The Illinois primary isn’t for another 6 months, but petitions are circulating locally and voters will be choosing State’s Attorney, Circuit Clerk, Coroner, County Board Districts 3 & 4 representatives (currently occupied by Kenny Usery and Board Chair Cassie Pigg), as well as precinct committee persons next year. The filing period began on September 5th and petitions have to be turned in by November 27th. White County Clerk Kayci Heil says no newbies or challengers have picked up petitions yet.
