NCOE principals tell Board buildings are ready for school to start

The NCOE School Board met on Wednesday night for their August meeting.  The three building principals reported that buildings are ready for students next week. High School Principal Todd Haley told the Board that student registration was held this week.  The High school and Junior High fall sports parent-athlete meeting was held August 9 and golf, volleyball and band practices have begun at the High School as well as baseball and softball for Junior High.

NCO Principal David Flechs reported that Back to School nights will be held at NCO on August 23 for 4th-8th grades and August 25 for Kindergarten through 3d grades.  Booth Principal Carla Carter has set August 22 for Booth’s Back to School night.

The Board added golf coach to Evan Wyllie’s duties at the High School.  They approved the FMLA request from Selma Harness for the beginning of the school year.  They also accepted the resignation of Betty Trousdale, NCO Special Education aide.  Regular and Special Education aides were re-employed.

The first reading of updated Board policies was held and will be approved at the September 21 meeting.  Also at that meeting the 2016-17 budget will be approved.  A tentative budget will go on display beginning August 19.
