On 05/12/2016, at approximately 11:19 AM, Wabash County 911 received a call of a careless driver.  The caller stated that a blue car ran over a stop sign and headed North on Cherry Street.  The caller advised the driver of the vehicle was wearing a mask.  Dispatch then advised the suspect was driving at a high rate of speed.  Mt. Carmel Police and the Wabash County Sheriff’s Office started looking for the suspect vehicle.  The vehicle was eventually found at a residence located at 16093 E. 1150 Road which is just North of Mt. Carmel.  The driver of the vehicle was identified as Daniel E. Dydo, age 20, of Mt. Carmel.  It was determined that Dydo was the driver of the vehicle.  Dydo was charged with driving while suspended, leaving the scene of an accident, and failure to report an accident.  Dydo was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he is being held on bond.  Dydo was alone in the vehicle at the time of the accident.  A mask was not found but a bandana was found in the vehicle.

A second person was arrested after she was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.  18 year old Jorden A.L. King of Mt. Carmel told Police that the vehicle belonged to her mother and she requested to get items out of the car before it was towed.  She retrieved a book bag from the vehicle that she claimed was hers. As she removed the items from the vehicle, the arresting officer noticed a glass smoking device in the bag.  King was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.  King’s bond was set at $150.00 cash.
