The following subjects were arrested by the Mt. Carmel Police Department. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
05/01/2016- Mt. Carmel Police arrested a 17 year old juvenile after she was accused of shoving her grandmother. According to the police report, Mt. Carmel Police were called to the 400 block of Pear Street reference a domestic. Police were told that the grandmother tried to keep the 17 year old at home and the girl shoved the grandmother so she could leave. The 17 year old was arrested and charged with domestic battery. The 17 year old was later turned over to another family member.
Mt. Carmel Police were called to the 400 block of Pear Street reference a suspicious male subject trying to crawl through a window of a residence. Police responded to 425 Pear Street and found 36 year old Christopher R. Shelby of Mt. Carmel. It was discovered that this was Shelby’s mother’s residence. However, a warrant check was conducted and it was discovered that he was wanted on a White County failure to appear warrant. Shelby was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was held pending the posting of $575.00 cash bond.
Mt. Carmel Police were called to a domestic dispute at 620 W. 4th Street. Upon arrival, Police heard a woman yelling “get off me”. Police knocked on the door and were met by 28 year old Brent Bolden. Police were told that Bolden entered the back door of the residence without legal authority and pushed the victim to the ground. The victim stated that she attempted to call 911 but Bolden took the phone away from her. Bolden was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with home invasion, domestic battery, and interfering with reporting a domestic. Bolden is being held pending the posting o $50,000 cash bond.
04/30/2016-Mt. Carmel Police arrested two subjects after a traffic stop. Police arrested 34 year old Burrell D. McDonald and 18 year old Cole Stewart, both of Mt. Carmel, after they were found to be in possession of suspected cannabis. Stewart was the driver and was subsequently arrested for DUI-drugs. Both subjects were transported to the Wabash County Jail. McDonald was charged with one count of possession of cannabis. Stewart was charged with possession of cannabis, DUI drugs, no valid driver’s license, and reckless driving. Both subjects were held pending the posting of bond.
04/29/2016-Mt. Carmel Police were called to 1022 Poplar reference a domestic. Upon arrival, Police were told that 38 year old Clint E. Pritchett of Mt. Carmel had battered two individuals in the residence. Pritchett is accused of being intoxicated and choking a 9 year old boy in the residence and when the mother intervened he is accused of choking her and throwing her to the ground. Police were able to locate Pritchett and place him into custody. Pritchett was charged with two counts of aggravated domestic battery and held pending the setting and posting of bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 31 year old Tanya C. Boan after she was observed operating a motor vehicle in the 800 block of W. 3rd Street. The arresting officer knew Boan was wanted on a Wabash County failure to appear warrant. Boan was stopped and subsequently arrested for the warrant. Boan was transported to the Wabash County Jail and held pending a $300.00 cash bond.
04/27/2016- Mt. Carmel Police arrested Shahadat Hossain, age 32, of Mt. Carmel on a Criminal Sexual Assault warrant out of Wabash County. Hossain is accused of attacking a female in her own home on around April 9, 2016. After a lengthy investigation a search warrant was obtained for the arrest of Hossain. Hossain is being held in the Wabash County Jail on a $10,000 cash bond.
