The following subjects were arrested by the Mt. Carmel Police Department. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
08/23/2016-Mt. Carmel Police arrested Mickey S. Coleman, age 26, of Mt. Carmel after police were called to 1401 W. 3rd Street reference a disturbance. Witnesses stated that Coleman was yelling obscenities at his neighbors and their children. Police arrested Coleman for disorderly conduct and he was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was held pending the posting of bond.
08/26/2016-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 35 year old Gina L. Griffin of Mt. Carmel after she was stopped by a Mt. Carmel Police Officer. Griffin was driving on a suspended Illinois driver’s license and was subsequently arrested for the offense. Griffin was transported to the Wabash County Jail and held pending until posting $150.00 cash bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested a pair of individuals after they were found in possession of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Police were called to the Shamrock Motel reference possible drug activity in Room 6 of the motel. Police spoke with the occupants and found the suspected methamphetamine in the room. The occupants were identified as Daniel R. Guffey, age 26, of Marion, Kentucky and Kendal M. Martin, age 22, of Anderson, Indiana. Both subjects were transported to the Wabash County Jail and are being held on multiple drug charges.
08/27/2016- Mt. Carmel Police arrested Dennis A. Green, age 23, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois. Green was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped for speeding. During the traffic stop it was discovered that Green was wanted on a Coles County (Illinois) warrant for failure to appear on a shop lifting charge. Green was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was held pending the posting of bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 22 year old Mark A. Wagner of Mt. Carmel after police were called to 1230 N. Walnut Street reference a fight in progress. According to the police report, Wagner was intoxicated an acting in a matter which disturbed the peace of others. Wagner was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with disorderly conduct. Wagner was released after posting bond.
Mt. Carmel Police were called to 402 E. 6th Street reference a domestic late last Saturday night. Upon arrival, MCPD Officer’s were told that James L. Lewis, age 51, of Mt. Carmel and Corrina N. Lee, age 29, of Mattoon had been in a physical altercation. It was reported that the two are a couple with a child together. During the course of the investigation it appeared that both subjects battered the other and therefore both were arrested for domestic battery. Both subjects were transported to the Wabash County Jail and held pending the setting and posting of bond.
08/28/2016-Mt. Carmel Police arrested Lisa A. Price, age 48, of Mt. Carmel after a Mt. Carmel Police Officer observed her in the 200 block of W. 12th Street. The arresting officer knew Price was wanted on a Wabash County Warrant/probation violation. The arresting officer arrested Price and transported her to the Wabash County Jail where she was held pending the posting of bond.
Mt. Carmel Police were notified of a domestic battery in the 800 block of West 5th Street. Police were told that Nathaniel W. Leach, age 34, of Mt. Carmel was in a physical altercation with a family member. Leach is accused of placing one family member in a headlock and threatening another with physical harm. Leach was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with domestic battery. Leach is being held pending the posting of bond.
