The following subjects were arrested by the Mt. Carmel Police Department. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
11/21/2016- Mt. Carmel Police were called to the Family Dollar reference a female shoplifter inside of the store. When police arrived the female had already exited the store without paying for a canister of Vaseline lip therapy. During the arrest of the female she began fighting with the officers and struck one of the officer’s by kicking him. A male subject with the female was also arrested when narcotics and drug paraphernalia were found in the couple’s vehicle. Both individuals were transported to the Wabash County Jail where they are being held on numerous charges. The female was identified as 30 year old Stephanie G. Johnson of Browns, Illinois. Johnson is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cannabis, retail theft, possession of a controlled substance, resisting a peace officer, and aggravated battery to a police officer. The male subject was identified as 34 year old Daniel K. Miller of Albion, Illinois. Miller is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia (cannabis). Both subjects are being held pending the setting and posting of bond.
