The Carmi-White County Baseball team fell to Hamilton County yesterday afternoon in extra innings by a final score of 4-3.
The Bulldogs trailed 3-1 after 3 innings, but Carmi tied the game in the 6th inning on RBI hits by Gavin Holloman and Merick Millhorn. Neither team scored in the 7th, the game went into extra innings tied at 3.
In the bottom of the 8th inning, Hamilton County walked it off after a run scored on an error committed by the Bulldogs.
Gavin Holloman, Merick Millhorn, Maxon O’Daniel, Mitchel Edwards, Hayden Sauls, Ty Hollingsworth, and Abe Girten all picked up base hits in the loss.
The Bulldogs fall to 9-10-1 on the season. They’ll have a rematch with the Foxes today at Eckerle Park.
The Carmi-White County Softball team will also host Hamilton County today. The Lady Bulldogs are playing their first game in a week, they come in with a record of 9-10 and 4-4 in the Black Diamond Conference.

The IHSA released the Baseball & Softball postseason brackets yesterday afternoon.
The Bulldogs are the 5 seed in the Fairfield Regional. They will host Hamilton County at home in the Regional Quarterfinals on Monday, May 19th. If the Bulldogs win they will face Harrisburg in the Semifinals.
The Lady Bulldogs are the 7 seed in the Harrisburg Regional. They will face Harrisburg on Tuesday, May 20th.
The Carmi-White County Girls Track team traveled to Hamilton County yesterday for the Black Diamond Conference meet, and the Lady Bulldogs finished in 2nd Place.
The 4×8 Relay team of Callie Acord, Makyla Seibers, Ally Pollard, and Gabbie Conover claimed the conference championship with a time of 11:39.57.
Torrie Rider claimed the conference championship in Shot Put with a throw of 35 feet and 5 inches.
Addi Elliott won the conference championship in Triple Jump with a jump of 30 feet and 3 inches.
The Lady Bulldogs will have one more meet before Regionals, they will travel to Harrisburg on Monday.
The Carmi-White County Boys Track team will travel to Webber today.
The Carmi-White County Boys Tennis team will host Herrin.
