Local Sports Recap – May 15, 2025

WROY/WRUL Local Sports Recap

Yesterday was Senior Day for the Carmi-White County Baseball and Softball teams as they both played their first home games since late April.

The Bulldogs hosted Flora for a conference game that was rained out last month, and the Bulldogs came away with a 5-2 win.

Travor Mason earned the win on the mound, pitching all 7 innings and allowing 2 runs on 5 hits with 10 strikeouts.

The Bulldogs managed to score 5 runs on just 2 base hits, those coming off the bats of Mitchel Edwards and Tyson Spicer.

The Bulldogs improve to 10-10-1 on the season. They will be back in action this afternoon as they will host Hamilton County at Eckerle Park. Fans can listen to today’s game on 97.3 FM WRUL and online at WRUL.com.

The Lady Bulldogs fell to Olney by a final score of 5-4.

Olney jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the 1st inning, and that ended up being the difference as Carmi’s comeback attempt came up short.

The doubles teams of Kale Wiggins & Gabe Winkleman, and Reece Whitley & Rylee Dodgson won their doubles matches.

The Bulldogs will be back in action this afternoon as they play host to Salem.
